We have seen some brilliant musicals this summer. Especially enjoyable were Singin’ in the Rain, with ‘real’, wet rain, at NWT, followed by Pretty Woman, with some surprisingly funny scenes and great dancing, at the Savoy Theatre and then Sister Act, with those incredible nuns, at the Hammersmith Apollo.

We also had a lovely visit to Normansfield Theatre in Teddington. Situated within Langdon House, this small but beautiful, Victorian theatre boasts spectacularly decorated proscenium frames, examples of original scenery and hand-painted, botanical images on the stage riser panels. The visit was organised by our President, Jan Hunt who has appeared here on stage many times as Marie Lloyd with her Paper Moon Theatre Co.
